Bold, beautifully written
Jewish and Israeli fiction.

Five books a year. Each one an event.

A NEW PROJECT FROM WICKED SON

Meg Keene Books, a project from Wicked Son, publishes bold, beautifully written Jewish and Israeli fiction across genres. Our list will include literary fiction, romance, thrillers, horror, family sagas, crime, fantasy, and literary memoir. We love books that defy category.

Jewish life, culture, and ideas are fundamental to the books we publish. Our books have sharp prose, pace, depth, and complexity. They span Jewish experience, from the vast diaspora to Israel, through memory and loss, exile and aliyah, tragedy and joy.

We publish books for everyone, but our work is dedicated to the smart, demanding, and eternal Jewish reader.

What We Publish

Five books a year means no divided attention: every novel gets serious editing, thoughtful design, and our knowledge about getting books into readers’ hands. Each book will be treated like a Jewish cultural event.

The Idea

An intentionally small list...

... of books with something to say

Writers should have something to say. We’ll worry about the market. Our books can be strange, smart, funny, sexy, and difficult. They can be deeply Jewish without translating themselves for outsiders. We put our whole weight behind books we believe are extraordinary.

Meg Keene is the Executive Editor of Meg Keene Books, part of Wicked Son, with global distribution through Simon & Schuster. She has spent her career at the intersection of writing, editing, community, and culture.

Meet the
Executive Editor

For fifteen years, Meg was the founder and editor-in-chief of A Practical Wedding, which she built from a kitchen-table blog into a self-funded seven-figure media company and the largest independently owned wedding publication in the English language. At its height, APW reached more than two million readers a month and had a cross-platform reach of more than 15 million. She is also the bestselling author of A Practical Wedding and A Practical Wedding Planner, both published by Hachette, which together have sold more than 150,000 copies.

Her writing and commentary have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, NPR, and The Atlantic. She is driven by finding work with a point of view, sharpening it, and building an audience around it.
